I also don't have another controller to test with, but since it works fine in Port 2 I assume the controller is fine. This is a Model 1 JPN Saturn, for what it's worth (the one that has the flimsy metal shield over the motherboard). Is there a simply fix like "open it up and check the ribbon cable?" The kicker is that the controller works fine in Port 2, so I'm assuming it's a controller port issue. However, Port 1 causes the supplied controller's DPad buttons to not work, and the other face buttons to either work intermittently, not at all, or have differing functions (for example, the Y button seems to be DPad down since it goes downwards in a game's title screen menu.) They said it worked "like new", so either something just jostled around in shipping or they didn't test fully.Īnyway, the system boots fine. It's a new console (to me) that I just bought on eBay.
